Okanagan College Passive House Daycare receives PHI certification

The Passive House Institute has certified B.C.’s first institutional Passive House building. Okanagan College received certification for its Penticton campus daycare centre October 30, during the Net Positive Symposium in Vancouver.

Albert Rooks presents the PHI certificate for Okanagan College Daycare to Trevor Butler, P.Eng., and colleague, of Archineers Consulting Ltd., which provided mechanical engineering for the project.

 

Albert Rooks, of the CertiPHIers Cooperative, presented the certificate Trevor Butler, P.Eng., of Archineers Consulting Ltd., which oversaw the building’s mechanical engineering requirements.

Many congratulations to the design and building team—Landform Architecture Ltd. (design); BC Building Science (Passive House Consultant); Archineers Consulting Ltd (mechanical engineer); Ritchie Custom Homes (Construction)—and to Okanagan College.

The Net Positive Symposium | Passive House Deep Dive took place at the University of British Columbia’s downtown Vancouver campus over two days. More than 150 design and construction industry members from across the Pacific Northwest attended the learning and networking event.
