Passive House Canada provides solutions to the climate crisis as it works to build or retrofit a new, future-proof generation of buildings that are efficient, healthy, and durable with low environmental impacts.
We advocate for the Passive House Institute and supportive standards to inform, train and support industry, governments, and owners, both here in Canada and internationally, with a whole-building approach that minimizes carbon footprints, mitigates climate change, and creates buildings that are adapted for climate change.
Passive House Canada is a national non-profit professional association advocating for the Passive House high-performance building standard. Passive House is recognized internationally as the optimal way to build healthy, climate-resilient, affordable, and energy-efficient residential, institutional, and commercial buildings through all stages of design, construction, and livability.
We were founded in 2013 as the Canadian Passive House Institute West (CanPHI West) and became Passive House Canada | Maison Passive Canada in 2016 in response to demand from the building community to form a single national organization. We facilitate the adoption of the Passive House Standard through our advocacy work, education program, and nation-wide events.
Our head office is in Victoria, BC, with course instructors, volunteers and members across Canada. We work in collaboration with local governments and other organizations to transform our built environment.
