Lead the Charge for High‑Performance Buildings in Canada.
Passive House Canada – Maison Passive Canada (PHC‑MPC) is seeking dynamic and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to advance sustainable building practices and shape the future of energy-efficient construction across Canada.
Didn’t PHC just have a call for Directors a few months ago? What’s going on?
Glad you noticed!
Yes, at the AGM in November 2025, election results for returning Directors and one new Director were announced following a two-week election period in October.
Holding the AGM in November has always been somewhat unusual for PHC, particularly since our fiscal year follows the calendar year. It meant that by the time members were presented with the organization’s Annual Report, Auditor’s Report, and Financial Statements for the previous year, we were already nearing the end of the current year.
This timing was a legacy of adjustments made during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Board felt that it was time to return to a more typical schedule. In addition, the temporary accommodation from the federal government allowing PHC to submit its Auditor’s Report and Financial Statements more than six months after the end of the fiscal year will expire at the end of this year.
For these reasons, the Board decided to move the AGM earlier beginning this year rather than waiting until next year.
As a result, the AGM – and the nomination process for new and returning Directors – is taking place earlier in 2026. Going forward, the AGM will be held closer to the midpoint of the year.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Sincerely,
Michael Quast, CEO, Passive House Canada
