Strategy puts members at leading edge of market transformation

Passive House Canada’s 2017/2018 pavilion at Buildex/IIDEX

The recently released national buildings strategy for Canada puts architects, builders and suppliers who provide Passive House-related services and materials for construction at the leading edge of an emerging market transformation. Build Smart: Canada’s Buildings Strategy is a key driver of the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change and commits the provinces and their communities to dramatically improve performance and energy efficiency of new and existing building stock over the coming decades.

Having already invested in training and skills development to meet the strategy’s targeted requirements, Passive House Canada members are well positioned to demonstrate your leadership as Canada’s low-carbon economy develops. You already have the necessary training and experience in applying the only internationally recognized, proven, science-based energy standard in construction in your work, which others in the industry will have to acquire as building codes and municipal bylaws change to support energy-efficiency targets.  You already are leading market transformation in the industry with your high-performance design, construction and materials.

While governments are working to further the market transformation needed to make the strategy’s targets reality, Passive House Canada is working with all levels of government to advance these policies.

We’re also working to provide you with opportunities to reach out to potential clients in key markets across Canada. Our high-performance pavilions at four of Canada’s popular Buildex/IIDEX shows will attract thousands of visitors seeking information about new materials, new techniques, new suppliers and the latest expertise in building design and construction. Having representation from Passive House-suitable suppliers helps demonstrate that the market transformation is underway.

There are several opportunities to take part in our exhibitor area at any of the shows in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver or Edmonton, available at all budget levels. Contact [email protected] if you would like to be part of showing how Passive House Canada and its members are helping to shape the market’s transformation.
