This was an evenings and weekends project undertaken by the homeowners in order to keep costs down. The structure was first built virtually, and then wall and roof panels were built in the back yard while living in the existing home. Once the panels were complete, the old house was removed and the panels craned onto a new raft foundation.
Panels were 2×8 advanced framing for walls and 12″ I-joists for roof. Interior taped sheathing air and vapour-barrier and horizontal 2×4 service cavity.
