Project Description
Located in downtown Hamilton, this new 55-unit, mid rise affordable housing building will feature a mix of one and three bedroom units with amenity space on the ground floor and a large exterior amenity outdoor space.
The project, currently in design development, will consist of a mix of wood frame and concrete foundation. Floors two to six, and the mechanical penthouse will be designed as wood frame.
The envelope will be an insulated wood structure wall with triple glazed windows. The cladding will be cement board on the ground floor and metal siding on the other floors.
Bay Cannon is the first of two buildings slated for the site. KMAI has designed the building with careful attention to site constraints to factor future development.
The goal of Bay Cannon is to create a landmark building for the City of Hamilton by merging affordable housing and Passive House design.
