Habit Studio 6437 Cork St Unit 4, Halifax, NS B3L 1Z5
This event will focus on ERVs – energy recovery ventilation – the components and how ERVs function, followed by PHI ERV testing certification requirements. The presentation will cover why energy recovery systems are needed, sensible vs. latent recovery, and frost control strategies. A review of all common technologies, principles of operations, advantages / disadvantages, and side by side comparison of frost control needs with high and low levels of relative humidity will be presented. It will include Passive House ERV technology commonly used, and model how different defrosting points will contribute to the energy cost of a building.
