Webinar description

This webinar series will focus on Canadian Projects all across the Country.

Our fifth stop will be in Alberta.

Join Frank Crawford, Kim Walton and Kevin D Brown as they share experiences designing, constructing and living in Cold Climate Passive house homes.

After 5 years of living in the Montgomery Passive House  Frank will share lessons learned that include: Overheating and shading, internal sound transfer, concrete topping, Cool-temperate windows in cold climates, mechanical systems and simplicity, and PHI classic vs PHI low energy building performance metrics and certification. Kevin will elaborate by sharing insights about mechanical systems and complexity, infloor hydronic heating, concrete mixes,  importance of shading, and the evolution of wall systems. Kim will touch on the challenges of building PH in Central Alberta and how they were exacerbated by pandemic scarcity and skyrocketing costs for construction materials, equipment and fixtures.
