NEW! Embodied Carbon Analysis Using PHribbon: Combining High Operational Performance of Passive House with Low-Embodied-Carbon Materials- 28 Apr 2022
Embodied carbon is a critical piece of the carbon equation and accounts for 21% of global annual emissions. In high performance buildings, it’s anticipated that embodied carbon will surpass emissions from operational carbon.
Date
Thursday April 28th, 2022 – 9am to 10am (PDT)/ 12pm to 1pm (EDT) – Online
Description
Join Chris Petit, Manager, Technical Services, as he provides an overview of PHribbon. New to the Canadian market, the ‘PHribbon tool’ integrates with the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) to calculate Whole Life Carbon (Embodied CO2 from Cradle to Grave), covering the manufacture of materials, transportation to site, construction, use, replacement, demolition and disposal of the building. This tool also calculates the reuse and recycling potential of building components. PHribbon brings into PHPP entries from the Building Transparency EC3 database, and CO2 figures for electricity, the end of life of materials, and the end-of-life pathway. 78,400 records from the EC3 database are stored in PHribbon and transferred to your PHPP as needed. This webinar will explore the capabilities of PHribbon and provide you with a better understanding of how it can be integrated into the design process.
