Building Conversations – August 11th @ 9am PT/12pm ET
Join our free, Building Conversations webinars series hosted monthly by our CEO, Chris Ballard.
Each month, Chris will interview experts from the Passive House community as they share their stories of what they have learned from their experiences. We will then open the discussion for you to ask Chris and his guest any questions related to the topic.
This month, we are thrilled to have Harold Orr back for an encore! (Missed his first appearance? Click here to watch on YouTube).
The Passive House standard has Canadian roots. During the 1970s oil crisis, the Saskatchewan government asked Harold Orr, an engineer, and a group of individuals to design a passive solar house that could withstand the changing local climate. The Conservation House is acknowledged by the Passive House Institute as an ancestor of today’s modern Passive House standard!
With a desire and enthusiasm to make a change in how to build for maximum indoor comfort and health, while providing environmentally friendly building options, Harold and his team paved the way for a movement of innovators. They had a vision of the future of building in Canada. He is a true pioneer.
