Webinar description
This webinar series will focus on Canadian Projects all across the Country.
Our fourth stop will be in Prince George.
Join Lars Lindstrom of Chernoff Thompson Architects North and Susan MacDougall of Focal Engineering as they share successes, lessons learned, and progress on a new mixed-use urban infill development in Prince George, BC. This unique building not only includes retail, office and residential spaces, it also adjoins existing buildings, which resulted in both structural and envelope implications. In addition, the cold climate and mechanical system have required some interesting workarounds within the PHPP.
Lars is a registered architect with Chernoff Thompson Architects North in Prince George, BC. He has over 20 years’ experience in the construction, project management, and design fields. Having been born and raised in northern BC, he is passionate about improving the quality of life for northern British Columbians through design, architecture, and the built environment. Lars has a particular interest in achieving a balance of economic, environmental and social sustainability in the projects he is involved in, with careful attention given to materials, craft, and regional context. He received his Bachelor of Architectural Science degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Manitoba.
Susan is the founder and owner of Focal Engineering. She has worked in the Vancouver building industry for twelve years at a variety of mechanical engineering, integrated design and building envelope firms. She is an experienced designer and project manager with a passion for sustainability, which has been her career focus. Over the course of her career, Susan has been involved in a variety of design projects including residential, civic, institutional, office, retail, and industrial, which were located across Canada and in the United States. Her work has included mechanical design for new construction and existing buildings, energy modelling, research, and other energy and water analysis projects.
