Webinar description
This webinar series will focus on Canadian Projects all across the Country.
Our sixth stop will be in Ontario.
Join Germán Vaisman as he will be presenting an ENERPHIT project located in Toronto that he designed while working for Coolearth Architecture (www.coolearth.ca), the architecture firm on record.
The main goal of the clients was to have a resilient and healthy house that would not only withstand environmental challenges but also have high quality indoor air, without compromising comfort and beauty. We will hear about the design and construction processes, and he will share the options that the team explored to avoid using any spray foam insulation. That initial requirement from the clients turned into trying to reduce the embodied carbon of any materials and we will hear about alternatives explored. The owners moved into the house a week before the main COVID-19 lockdown in Ontario and they have been living there happily ever since.
Germán Vaisman (www.germanvaisman.com) always believed in a world with low carbon emission, so he geared his architectural career towards Passive House after he heard about it in 2011. He has worked for architectural firms in Argentina, Israel, the US and Canada where he specialized in high performance building enclosures and sustainability. He was trained as an architect and also finished a Masters in Building Science. He is also a trainer for Passive House Canada and a strong advocate of the Passive House concept every time he has a chance to open his mouth. In 2020 he founded Green Tectonics, a design company specialized in low carbon buildings where he helps individual clients, developers and architects achieve low carbon and high performance standards in buildings.
Please note that this is a live-only event and not will be recorded.
