CEO Letter – July

Passive House Canada has officially teamed up with Efficiency Canada to continue to push for better building policies. As an official partner of Efficiency Canada, we will be working together on various advocacy and communications initiatives that advance our mission to make Passive House widely known, understood and adopted by government decision makers. We are excited about collaboration to come!

In Ontario, we are continuing to engage with policymakers to demonstrate that Passive House can help them achieve their environmental, social and health goals. We are now participants on a stakeholder advisory body hosted by the Ontario Big City Mayors (OBCM). In collaboration with OBCM, we are developing directives on affordable housing that will be taken to the Ontario government for discussion.

At the municipal level, we are pushing for improved standards and regulations for buildings. On June 28th, Passive House Canada submitted a letter and made a deputation to the City of Toronto’s Planning and Housing committee in support of Version 4 of the Toronto Green Standard for new builds. Committee approved the update and it now will head to Toronto City Council for final consideration on July 14th.
